MINERAL INTEREST DISPUTE

We represented an individual and his small petroleum company involving a dispute regarding approximately a thousand mineral interests located throughout the country. The dispute centered upon title to the mineral interests and various deeds that purported to convey these mineral interests by and between the parties. The case was tried in federal court in the Eastern District of Texas. Because of the complexity of the case, the case was bifurcated into a two phase trial, with phase 1 taking a week to try. Based upon the jury’s favorable verdict in phase 1 of the trial, we obtained a positive resolution in mediation for our client.
